Being In Nature, Future Tripping & Celebrating | Wednesday Waffles 2nd Edition

Back again for our second edition of Wednesday Waffles. Missed the first edition? Check it out here

Today I’m feeling all sorts of different energies. I’ve got the state of the world weighing on my mind and my heart. I’m feeling the mental pressure to move forward with haste mixed with confusion around which step to take. I’m also feeling moments of gratitude for how far I’ve come and how easily I guide myself back into a nurtured state, feeling calm and centered. Soul centered. Allowing a sense of purpose, peace, and passion to lead me, instead of pressure, force, and control.

The energy is quite chaotic this week and I was sharing with The Soul Care Space community the other day how the Universal Energy is influencing us in the exhaustion, confusion and fogginess you may be feeling. Today feels like an especially important time to remember the practices, rituals and intentions that keep me centered and calm on my path. One of the conversations I had with a good friend recently is the perfect reminder of how I stay spiritually grounded and connected.

Let’s dive into the second edition of Wednesday Waffles!

Conversations I’m Having Lately…

My friend recently went camping, and it was her first trip of the year. She spent the entire day soaking up the sun rays, enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature, getting lost in a good book, and allowing her nervous system to reset after a dark, cold, wet winter. When she got back to town she was telling me how she decided to plan more camping trips for the rest of April and into May. She forgot how much she loved connecting to nature and being surrounded by the calmness of the wilderness and she needed that reminder.

Having this conversation with her reminded me that a few weeks ago I said a similar thing to my mom. I hadn’t been going out on my nature walks as much over the winter, maybe only once a week. This is coming from someone who often walks multiple times a day… I guess not having a dog in my life right now really cuts down my daily walks. Anyways, I went for a long walk and realized that the anxiousness, the overthinking, and the fogginess I was feeling had been attributed to not walking in nature enough.

A nature walk is a type of meditation and soul connection for me, as is camping for my friend. There is something magical about spending time with Mother Earth and allowing yourself to be fully present to your surroundings.

I speak with Mother Earth. I’m friends with the birds, the deer, and the rivers. I receive messages along my path through nature and the spirits that surround me. Whether it’s the wind reminding me to take action and move. Or the river reminding me to surrender and go with the flow. Sometimes the eagles come to tell me to trust in the bigger picture. Whereas other times the voice of my own soul shares a profound message that I needed.

There is magic in the earth and the more we take time out in nature we can appreciate how that magic influences our lives. Being in nature is cleansing and nurturing to my soul.

3 Tips I’m Remembering…

1 - To have grace for my energy (Waning Moon vibes)

As I was saying, the energy is wild this week and I’ve been talking to a lot of people in my life who are also feeling the unexplained exhaustion, mental confusion and build-up of pressure. The moon is waning this week, meaning it’s getting smaller as it approaches the New Moon on April 17th. This always signifies a decrease in energy for me, as it’s a time to release, rest and recalibrate my energy. If I’m not cautious then my thoughts can lead to old patterns of worry, stress, and overwhelm when my physical energy feels more depleted. Having grace for where my energy levels are allows me to relax more easily from feeling self-nurtured. I do this by journaling through any heaviness I feel and then writing out supportive, kind words back to myself. I will hold space for my inner child who may be feeling overwhelmed and scared. I will do a cleansing ritual or even take a short walk in nature. This week when I was feeling exhausted I went for a cold dip in the river. It didn’t require a ton of energy and was revitalizing. These kinds of rituals and practices are how I have grace for my energy and nurture myself. These are the exact kind of practices and rituals I am creating and sharing inside The Soul Care Space.

2 - To dream and believe (ever heard of future tripping?)

One of the practices that is extremely helpful for overcoming self-doubt is future tripping. It’s a journey of energetically visiting a future version of you and being able to tap into the energy, emotions, and feelings of the future right now. I can either feed the story of fear, doubt and insecurities, or I can feed the narrative of trust, expansion, joy, and fulfillment. When I take the time to dream and believe it’s not about becoming fixated and attached to what the outcomes look like. Instead, this practice is about embodying the feeling of success, the feeling of connection, the feeling of your desires. When you can practice tuning your frequency into that future feeling now, then you can jump timelines and quantum leap. This isn’t about speeding up your life. This is about embracing who you are becoming in the now. I added a future tripping journey to The Soul Care Space recently and the feedback I’m getting is magic. With the spring energy of new beginnings, my future tripping rituals are helping me to embrace the dream and believe energy of what’s possible.

3 - To acknowledge my progress and celebrate it

I had a moment a couple days ago where someone from my past literally walked past me in the grocery store. A past version of me would’ve been immediately triggered, nervous system in fight or flight, and stuck in overanalysis paralysis of ‘what does this mean’. The today version of me… she was calm, cool and collected. She breezed past, barely aware of who she walked past until after the moment. I am so proud of myself and how I didn’t spiral into anxiously overthinking everything. I got home and immediately sent a voice note to my best friend because I knew she would understand the spiritual side of my experience and my growth, along with the very human side of “does this mean something” questioning. I was able to express to her and myself, after a quick verbal processing moment, that the ‘meaning’ I’m giving this moment is to acknowledge how far I’ve come and to celebrate how much I’ve healed and how confident I am in myself. What a beautiful moment.

Don’t forget to have grace for your energy, to dream and believe, and to acknowledge your progress and celebrate it too!!

Here are 2 journal prompts to support your energy & your needs right now…

1 - How can you nurture yourself in this moment?

2 - What energy are you wanting to embody moving forward, and how can you practice it?
