Top Meditation Tips to Hear/Feel the Voice of Your Soul

The more spiritually awakened you become you start to realize the thoughts in your mind are not actually your soul speaking to you. Your thoughts can come from your ego, which is your false self, and your fear-based mindset. In order to follow your soul path and live out your soul purpose you must be able to hear/feel the voice of your soul.

As a Spiritual Mentor and Intuitive Guide I guide and support my clients and community members as they strengthen their connection to the Universe and more easily trust their intuition. Spiritual connection can feel complicated and overwhelming in many different ways and it’s my mission to simplify spiritual connection so you can more easily live in alignment with your Higher Self.

In this blog I will share my top meditation tips to support you in hearing/feeling the voice of your soul. Every single spiritual mentor or teacher talks about meditation because of its ability to help you transcend your mental capacity and truly connect with the inner workings of your spirit.

The Difference between Your Soul and Your Ego

First I want to briefly discuss the difference between your soul and your ego.

Your ego is identified as your false-self. It is the version of you that you perceive yourself to be through thought, pain, and the past. Our ego has an important job which is to keep us safe. It’s in our ego that we are able to react quickly in a life or death situation, which is when we trigger the fight, flight, fawn or freeze modes. This basically means that your ego acts from a fear-based mindset and can be extremely limiting.

The reason why your ego can be limiting is because it stays focused on “everything will kill me” which produces the many different fears you may experience in your lifetime. Your ego identifies you as a Mother because you have children. So your fear-based mindset within ego leads you with worry and stress trying to protect your children as your role as a mother. The problem with this is that you can become over-worried about every little thing, when in fact everyone is currently safe.

Now your Soul on the other hand is the eternal energy you are made up of. There is a life force that lives within your core and leads you based on your passions and the energy of love versus fear. Your soul isn’t concerned with needing an identity because an identity is limiting and can hold you back. Your soul is focused on the energy you embody and whether or not it’s leading you forwards, expanding yourself and the Universe.

The reason why your soul is limitless and eternal is because it’s focused on continuing to expand the Universe with more light and the only way you bring more light into the world is if you believe in your ability to create uplifting energy. Your ability to create energy proves that abundance is limitless and when you tap into the energy of your soul you embody true abundance.

Your ego creates identities based on your past so you can better understand who you’ve become.

Your soul focuses on the creation of uplifting energy to lead you forwards so you can better understand who you came here to be.

In short, ego is past focused and creates limits, whereas soul is present focused and embodies well-being.

How Meditation focuses on Feeling Your Soul Centered Space

Meditation is the practice that allows you to separate your identity of self from your thoughts. Often when you live in a world where your mind is always spinning you become attached to different thought patterns that feel heavy and limiting. This is because your ego is telling you something is unsafe, and you continuously think thoughts around that feeling of being unsafe.

In order to tap into the energy of your soul and better feel the voice of your soul, you need to be able to separate from the thoughts in your mind. Through meditation you learn that you are not your thoughts, instead you are the awareness or consciousness that is listening to those thoughts. Once you are able to create this separation of thoughts and self, you can more easily focus on how you feel through the energy that flows through your body.

The meditation practice I focus on with my clients and community members is about feeling into your soul centered space. One of the reasons why I mention that you want to feel the voice of your soul is because if we believe we need to “hear” our soul, then we can get caught up in our thoughts which becomes confusing in trying to differentiate between ego thoughts and soul messages. This is actually one of the lessons I cover inside of my Spirit of Air Group Program.

Meditation truly is about feeling into your body rather than staying focused on what the thoughts are saying. When I lead my clients through a guided meditation I remind them it’s not about logically focusing on what I am saying, instead it’s about paying attention to how you feel inside your body as you listen to the words I am saying. This is the art of feeling into your soul centered space.

Fear Blocks Your Soul - Meditation Tip #1

As I’ve already described the difference between ego and spirit, you can see how fear blocks your soul. The fear you carry can originate from many different places, it can be a generational trauma passed on to you that triggers a fear; it can be a past emotional pain you experienced in this lifetime that triggers a fear; it can be an outdated belief system that is unsupportive and triggers a fear.

There are many other ways that fear can be triggered from, ultimately it shifts your energetic state from peace and flow into stress, overwhelm, confusion and worry. The energy of fear blocks you from feeling the voice of your soul because ego is doing it’s “job” trying to keep you safe from a life or death situation. But what happens if you are actually not in a life or death situation, which is more often the case than not? You need to be able to shift your energy from fear into peace and calmness in order to tap into the voice of your soul once again.

My tip for you, begin to use your breath as a meditative tool to shift your energy from fear to peace. You can do this in a daily meditation, and you can do this in the moment when you recognize fear has come forward. Breathe deeply, counting 3-5 seconds for your inhales and the same for your exhales. State to yourself “I am in fear right now. I choose to breathe and release this feeling.” Your breath becomes a meditative practice to shift your energy so you can more easily hear/feel the voice of your soul again.

Overthinking Resists Your Intuition - Meditation Tip #2

Your intuition is a way your soul speaks through you, and it is also a feeling. When you are constantly in your mind overthinking and overanalyzing everything it means you are disconnected from your soul and unable to feel your intuition or gut instincts about the situation.

Meditation is a great practice to shift away from overthinking and tap back into a soul centered space where you will more easily feel your intuition. You have to first acknowledge that you have been overthinking in order to release the thoughts, to then allow clarity to flow in through your intuition.

My tip for you, once or twice a week bring awareness to what you have been thinking about and choose to release those thoughts through meditation. Some weeks it might be a lot of thinking about household chores, whereas other weeks you might be overthinking on a big life decision. No matter how big or small the situation, overthinking is overthinking and it’s creating resistance around your intuition. When you sit down to meditate, set the intention of, “I’ve been overthinking this and I want to release this energy and find peace. I intend for this meditation to help me shift into my soul centered state so I can more easily feel my intuition.”

This type of intention will help you to prioritize slowing down to become soul centered again, rather than allowing your overthinking to lead you down a path of worry, doubt and stress.

Journey Meditations Create Connection - Meditation Tip #3

Your soul is part of the Universe, which means you are part of the Universe. The Universe is limitless which means you are limitless. However, your ego mind has created many limiting beliefs, thoughts, and habits that keep you stuck in fear. Journey meditations are meditations that take your soul on a journey and through this practice you tap into the limitless energy that is available to you.

Journey meditations can bring clarity to your situation, they can heal your past emotional pain, they can provide breakthroughs and deeper understanding, and they can connect you to your Higher Self and your soul path. Ultimately, journey meditations create connection with you, your soul and the Universe. The main intention for this style of meditations is to support you in breaking free from the limits of your ego and fear based mindset.

When I lead my clients through the journey meditations they more clearly feel the voice of their soul and feel connected to their Higher Self. When they tap into this energetic vibration it supports them through their daily life in overcoming challenges and leading from their soul.

My tip for you, be open to different styles of meditating and try a journey meditation to see what you experience. A journey meditation is exactly as it sounds, when you go on a journey in your meditation practice. Often after guiding my clients into a meditative state, I lead them through a passageway to begin the journey. Sometimes the journey is about connecting to a specific feeling, sometimes it’s about receiving a message, sometimes it’s about connecting to their Spirit Guides, sometimes it’s about being open to flowing with the Universe. Check out this meditation from my YouTube channel to experience a journey meditation.

These three tips are the beginning of helping you to hear/feel the voice of your soul through your meditation practice.
