Your Life is Missing This... | The Key to Joy, Peace & Presence
You're at the place of recognizing you’re on a personal growth journey. Life doesn’t feel the way you want it to and you’re tired of sitting around and waiting for the change you desire. Now is your moment to make a difference in the life you live, but you don’t know what to do or where to go.
As a recovering people pleaser, an empath and intuitive being, early on in my personal growth journey I knew I needed to create change for myself. I hadn’t liked who I had become or the life I was living, and I didn’t want to wait for some future moment where I could finally live as I desired. But I felt a little bit stuck because I didn’t know where to go.
Six years later, I can look back on my journey with hindsight and see exactly what I was missing and how I could move forward in creating a life I love.
My life was missing…
Intentional self connection.
Let me ask you this…
Do you actually take the time to understand your emotions and process what you are feeling?
Do you ever stop yourself in the downward spiral of thoughts and say to yourself, “how can I shift this”?
Do you realize that when you slow down enough you can begin to feel your spirit more easily?
There are four key factors that are influencing your life experience and why you currently don’t feel fulfilled, peaceful or purposeful.
As a Spiritual Mentor and Intuitive Guide, I take my own lessons and the practices and strategies I have implemented in my own life, and I share them intentionally with other empath souls. We are all just trying to figure out life as we go, and if I can make your journey a bit easier by sharing the wisdom I’ve gained, then that’s exactly where you’ll find me. This blog, along with my membership and my podcast, is where I show up the most to offer insights to spiritual healing, personal development and emotional wellness.
In this blog I want to share some of my own experiences in learning what I was missing in life and what I believe is the key to living with more joy, peace, and presence.

There are four key factors that are influencing your life experience and why you currently don’t feel fulfilled, peaceful or purposeful.
1 - You prioritize everyone else over yourself.
You’ve lived a life of putting the needs of those around you before your own needs. On the surface this looks like you being the good girl or good boy, and doing your darndest to make sure everyone around you is happy and taken care of.
On a much deeper level, you’ve placed your worthiness and the feeling of being enough on receiving validation and approval from others after you’ve successfully helped them. Over time this behaviour becomes a triggered pattern leading you to believe your worthiness is on the condition of whether the people around you are happy or not.
2 - You take on the emotional strain of everyone else and the world.
You are a sensitive soul, a highly sensitive being, and as you watch someone else struggling or stressing out, you take on this energetic weight, sympathizing with them. On the surface you feel overly emotional, crying at the drop of a hat, witnessing the suffering around you.
On a much deeper level, your energetic frequency and emotional state has become easily influenced by your external environment, guiding you further and further away from the light of your Spirit. You don’t know how to live a life of peace because anything can trigger you, and you are constantly emotionally and energetically exhausted.
3 - Your dreams and desires feel impossible and so far away.
You know you have dreams and desires for your life, but the voice in your head constantly convinces you it’s something that may never happen. On the surface it feels like the choices you made led you astray from your dream life, and you have no idea how to make it happen.
On a deeper level, you’ve prioritized living a life that society told you to live, you’ve been holding onto commitments that don’t feel aligned and the voice of your fears has become debilitating. It’s not even about knowing which direction to head, because your fears hold so much power over you that you’ll just end up self sabotaging the path anyways.
4 - You don’t really know who you are.
You feel disconnected from yourself, you are insecure, and you wonder what your true purpose is in this lifetime. On the surface, you’ve experienced an awakening where you are finally aware that the life you’ve been living is not fulfilling.
On a deeper level, you are realizing that the person you’ve become to try and please the people around you doesn’t actually feel like the truth of who you are. You’ve been avoiding parts of you for a lifetime and you are wondering how you could start embracing the truth of who you are.
The first step I took on my journey towards creating a fulfilling life was to learn where my joy resides.
My life had become my job, and when my workplace had become a toxic environment leading me to a mental breakdown, I had to walk away. This meant I felt like I had nothing left in my life, which allowed me to begin with a blank slate.
I embarked on a journey of discovering what brought me joy, and just because something made me happy in the past didn’t mean I would automatically add it to the list. I wanted to discover how many things I could add to this list of joy because I never again wanted to get to a place where I only prioritized one thing in my life.
What does this mean for you?
In the act of INTENTIONAL SELF CONNECTION you get to discover what brings you joy, what makes you feel good, and then start filling your life with more of those things. The more often you can create joy for yourself, the more energized you feel, and the closer you become to living authentically you.
The next step I took was to no longer ignore the emotions I was feeling.
As a sensitive soul I’ve felt a lot of heaviness and sadness in my lifetime, but I never actually did anything about those feelings. I didn’t learn from them, I didn’t process them, and I certainly didn’t ask myself if what I was feeling was actually my emotion or if I was feeling the weight of someone else’s emotions.
By taking time to journal about how I felt I was able to process these feelings quickly, identifying a lesson or a trigger, and then gaining clarity on how to heal the deeper wound. In my self healing journey I started to recognize that a lot of the triggers I experienced weren’t actually from the situation I just moved through, instead they were from an underlying wound I was carrying from my past.
Sometimes the emotions that were triggered were actually from the fears circling through my mind, telling me I wasn’t good enough. My fear of judgment and rejection has worked tirelessly to create stories about why I was all alone, how everyone hates me, or how my family members secretly judged me for being spiritual.
What does this mean for you?
In the act of INTENTIONAL SELF CONNECTION you begin to learn what’s coming from your ego versus what’s coming from your spirit. When you look into your fears more deeply, you begin to understand how to comfort yourself in a healthy and supportive manner.
Rather than allowing the triggers to become stronger over time, through self reflection and building self awareness you start to take your power back, ensuring the trigger becomes minimized. Life becomes more peaceful when you aren’t having emotional reactions to everything all of the time.
I’m still a sensitive soul, but I cry a lot less than I ever have before.
Through the act of intentional self connection you begin to learn more about who you are, who you came here to be, and you also unlearn who you are not. You release the patterns, behaviours and conditioning that made you feel as if you weren’t enough and you start to embrace the light of your spirit more easily.
You want to know who you are.
You want to live with soul purpose.
You want to experience peace and fulfillment, along with your deepest desires.
I know the path you are looking for.
Your life is missing intentional self connection.
When you start to prioritize connecting to yourself, slowing down to understand yourself, you begin to live with more joy, more courage, and the feeling of being empowered to be your most authentic self.
Intentional self connection is the pursuit of knowing your soul and living authentically.
Okay, now that you know what you’re missing you might be wondering…
How do I start prioritizing intentional self connection?
You need to carve out time in your life to stop focusing on “doing” and start focusing on “who you are being”.
This looks like journaling, meditating, reflecting on perspective shifts from different spiritual books, and it can even look like communicating with your Spirit Guides.
Life is busy and hectic, and you probably have an ever growing to-do list of things you don’t have time for. How can you ever carve out time for journaling and meditating? Well, it really depends on the life you wish to live. If you want to continue to live in the energy of feeling hectic, rushed and stressed out, then I urge you to keep doing what you are doing. If you are ready to start feeling more peaceful, actually having a sense of self-love, and feeling more fulfilled about the life you are creating, then you will certainly start prioritizing carving out the time for intentional self connection.
This is why I created my membership community, The Soul Care Space.
It’s inside this virtual sacred space that you will begin to understand yourself on a deeper level. You will create more awareness on how to shift the blocks and resistance you feel in life. You will begin to feel more connected to your soul as you understand the voice of your soul and your intuition. You will break free from old habits and behaviours that have left you feeling stuck.
