Are you an empath? An empath is someone who easily picks up on the energy of emotions of other people, their environment and even the weather. You are sensitive to the energy that surrounds you and it can easily sway your own emotions. 

I am a Spiritual Mentor & Intuitive Guide who works directly with empaths, people pleasers, sensitive souls and intuitives. Being an empath myself, I understand the effects of energy and emotions that we take on from our surroundings and I support empaths in better understanding their energy so they can thrive in life.

In this blog I am going to share who specifically this meditation is for, when to use this meditation and how this meditation will help you. Let’s be honest, you want to know why I am claiming that this meditation is the best for empaths, so let’s get into it.

Who is this meditation for

As an empath you easily take on the energy and emotions of your environment and one of your greatest gifts is your compassion. The problem is that in your compassionate heart, you end up taking on the pain, fear, worry and other harsh emotions from the people around you. 

I remember as a kid and teenager I would often leave school carrying the pain of my peers because someone was bullying another person. I would hear about the arguments my friends got into with their parents or siblings, and I would feel their pain and wish I could solve their problems for them. 

As a young adult in university I would see my friends go through bad breakups with their boyfriends and I would carry the emotional hurt they experienced. I would see the decisions my friends were making, knowing it was leading them down a bad path and I would want to offer them advice to make decisions that would uplift them rather than hurt them. 

As an adult I have witnessed many friends and family members in careers that didn’t fulfill them, and I would see these people come home feeling overwhelmed, stressed to the max and completely exhausted. I became affected by their energy, knowing they deserved to feel peace and fulfillment, but not knowing how to help them. 

In all of these situations, I was taking on the emotional pain and exhausted energy of my surroundings. All I really wanted was to help these people, support them through their experiences, and give them solutions if they desired. 

What I didn’t know was that I could support them in a healthier way, without taking on their emotional pain. This is exactly how I help my 1:1 mentoring clients today, by teaching them to understand their energy, create boundaries, and stay in an uplifted state while helping others.

This meditation is for the empaths that easily take on the emotional pain and exhausted energy of their surroundings.

When to use this meditation

It’s pretty simple to explain when is the right time to use this meditation. This style of meditation may become a regular practice for you, especially in the beginning stages of understanding your energy as an empath. 

Basically anytime you feel heavy after an interaction with someone else, you witness someone experiencing a challenge, or you feel emotionally low you can turn on this guided meditation.

How this meditation will help you

This meditation is meant to help you release the heavy and harsh energy that has attached onto you from your empathic trait of wanting to help others. 

This guided meditation is meant to support you in transmuting and alchemizing any heavy energy you've picked up from your environment. Learning to release the heavy, harsh energy and transmute it into light, love and uplifting energy will transform your experience through life. 

I had a past 1:1 client ask me when she would be able to stop doing these cleansing types of spiritual practices, and when she no longer needed to protect and guard her energy as an empath. My response was an easy one, never. As an empath you are constantly picking up on energy from your environment, so learning different practices, habits and strategies that support you in staying uplifted is extremely important. It’s not that you’ll stop having to do these types of practices, it’s with these practices your life will become more enjoyable.
